What is Lobbying?
Lobbying is the practice by professionals who advocate on behalf of individuals, companies, trade organizations, or special interest groups to governmental bodies for the purpose of affecting the outcome of specific legislation. Groups, companies, and individuals will hire lobbyists not only for their experience in the area they’ll be advocating, but also to take advantage of the relationships with Government Officials already established by the lobbyist.
Why Lobby in texas?
With Texas’ large population and booming economy, many opportunities for lobbying either now or will exist in the future for a better quality of life or business opportunities for those who reside or do business in the state. As of 2018, Texas has the 10th largest economy in the world if it were its own sovereign country with a $1.8 trillion GDP, putting it on the same level as Canada’s economy. Lobbying is not restricted to the National or State levels of government. City and County Governments who decide on laws which affect businesses and residents can be lobbied.
